The old laminate counter on the left is suffering from water damage from prolonged leaking through the seams of the laminate material. It is coming un-glued from the suface and buckling. Traditionally the only solution would be to rip out this counter, and replace the entire surface with new. This requires demolition, custom new counters, and installation, and time.
